Springtime brings with it much anticipation and hope. We have planted our spring gardens and are patiently waiting for the time when we can start harvesting the delicate spring vegetables. We have also begun the task of tilling, and planting of the summer gardens. A host of potatoes, tomatoes, cabbages, corn, carrots, and lettuces have been planted. We also have pumpkins, squash and other root vegetables in the ground. Soon we will plant the flowers we use as natural insect repellents as well as those to attract beneficials. We are lucky enough to have had spring rains to keep the plants moist and growing. Many of the perennials are in bloom and the sweet scents of spring fill the air as we work. Truly this is one of the most peaceful places on earth.
